Holy Week Retreat 2018

“So much knowledge and yet so ignorant, we have advanced so much in technology and science, yet we remain as ignorant as we can possibly be about ourselves. We have conquered space but have not been able to reach our hearts, so close and yet so distant. Our human potential remains at the level of personality and ego, where daily existence has no quality and it has become totally dependent on what happens outside of us.”

The celebration of Lent that culminates in the Holy Week is a special period of the year where there is an opportunity open to us to acquire the strength necessary to overcome the impulses of our denying forces. “It can be a means of looking into ourselves, really looking into what we are, an acceptance of one’s actual condition and if one does this deeply the acceptance of reality and the shedding of the burden of illusion brings a special kind of reward and joy”.
